Championship Flight:
Jim Aughtry started the day 2 shots back of Rick Tomei. Aughtry and Tomei battled all day but a nice 20 foot par save on number 16 helped Aughtry to the 36 hole victory. Aughtry won by just a shot over Tomei and last years winner Chase Wilson. Rounding out the top five were Dave Schmidt in fourth spot and Joe Jaspers in 5th. The win also secured the 2009 overall points Championship for Jim Aughtry.
A Flight:
Going into Sunday Sean Walsh had a two shot lead over Marty James and Jason Breedlove; but when Walsh was late for his tee time he started out his first hole with a triple bogey and never got back on track. Instead in was Phillip Lippard who came from three shots back to capture his first Egolf Amateur Title and a spot in this years National Championship. Jim Boyce and Marty James both finished at 165 and it was Boyce beating out James on the card for 2nd place. Mike Harter, Jason Breedlove and Andrew Chappuis all finished tied for 4th spot at 166, but it was Chappuis beating out both on the card for 4th spot. Jason Breedlove might have not gotten fourth but his did manage to hold off Chappuis for the A Flight Points Championship.
B Flight:
Jimmy Chapman lead after day and also after day 2 for the victory in this year eGolf Local Finals. Chapman played consistently both days on route to a 159 total. Jerry York and Scott Ide battled all day but it was York beating out Ide on the card for second place. Both players shot a 2 day total score of 164. Vic Lawrence continues his great play and finished in fourth place with 165. Dean Hearn continued to improve all season and just nipped out several players for the 2009 season Points Championship.
C Flight:
It came down to sudden-death between Allen Hagen and Ken Burke. Hagen had to make up a lot of ground on Sunday coming from 7 shots back. Ken Burke fired his best round of the season with 81 at The Warrior on Saturday, however the Sunday round proved to be a bit tougher but he was still able to hold on for a tie with Hagen after 36 holes. The playoff started on the par 4 10th hole and Hagen ripped his drive right down the middle and Burke hit his to the left into the trees. Hagen would end up winning the playoff with a par. Burke took second place and Christian Casper beat out Nolan Elenz on the card for 3rd place, both players shot 177.
Thanks to everyone who played this season on the eGolf Amateur Tour and congrats to all of you who have qualified to play in the National Championship in Hilton Head, SC. The 2010 schedule will be better than ever and will be out by Mid November. Happy Holidays and look forward to seeing you next season out on Tour!
