Championship Flight: Joe Jaspers keeps up his domination at Edgewater. Jaspers Shot one under 35 on the front side but the birdied 13,14,15 & 18 on the back nine to finish at 4 under par 68. For Joe this just concluded a great week as for the second year in a row Jaspers made it through the first stage of US Open qualifier shooting 69 and winning his spot in a sudden-death playoff. Joe will travel to Columbus in two weeks to try to make it into the Open, Good Luck Joe we will all be rooting for you. Steve French finished in second place with 74 while Jim aughtry beat out Bill Hall on the card for third spot. Both Aughtry and Hall fired 75’s. A Flight: Neal Gaston and Mike Harter both finished the day tied at 74. In the sudden-death playoff Harter made a par and Gaston a bogie for Harter’s first win of the season. Chad Ballard finished 8 shots back at 82 but finished with third place money. Mike Nasekos also cashed capturing 4th place with an 83. B Flight: Doug Watson and Jerry York also finished tied after 18 holes on Saturday. Both shot 80’s and went into sudden-death with York trying to win for the second tournament in a row. Both players tied on the first hole but the par 5 second Doug Watson made par and York’s eight footer to tie just slid by the edge for a bogie six. The win was Watson’s first of the season as he looks to be getting his game in shape for the summer. Right behind them were Greg McCoy Joel Barlowe and Joe Lewis all at 81. On the card playoff McCoy grabbed third place and Barlowe fourth leaving Lewis out of the money in fifth. C Flight: Ken Burke also won for the first time all season just nipping out 3 other players by one shot. Burke posted an 84 for his victory at Edgewater.
