Mike Gentry, Travis Dodge, Todd Mullis, Richard Cairns & Chris Richards all win at Charlotte National!
Championship Flight:
Mike Gentry came into 18 Saturday one shot behind Joe
Jaspers and needed a birdie to tie which he got. Then on to sudden-death playing the same hole
again Gentry once again birdied the very difficult 18th as Jaspers
remarks to birdie that hole even once is great but twice Gentry deserved the
win. Mike Gentry and Joe Jaspers’ both
fired 3 under par 69’s followed by Scoot Patnode at one under 71 and John
Ashmore at 72.
A Flight:
Travis Dodge fired his best round of the year a 74 and along
with that came a promotion to the Champ flight as his tour index fell below
4.0. Greg McCoy, Mitch Howze, Kirk Tatge and Michael
Brandenburg all tied at 76 with McCoy winning on the card.
B Flight:
Todd Mullis wins on his home track by only one shot firing a
smooth 76. Terry Upright who ahs won
here before almost caught Mullis but finished one back at 77. Dale Ambrose & Janse Van Rensburg both
tied at 79 with Janse winning on the card.
C Flight:
Richard Cairns wins with his best round of the year at 82
followed by Jim Hestikind and Gregg Sherrill at 85. Hestikind grabbed second on the card and John
Anderson beat out Pat Reynolds at 86 also on the card for 4th place
money.
D Flight:
Chris Richard who just recently transferred from the
Tidewater tour grabs his first ever victory in Charlotte with 88. Peter Proukou was solo second at 91 followed
by Michael Martin at 92 and Chris Luce at 93.
This event saw the largest D flight ever on tour with 16 players
competing.
