egolf Amateur Tour River Hills CC Championship Flight: Joe Jaspers took over the points lead Saturday with a one under par 71 at River Hills CC. Jaspers first place finish started fast one both nines. Jaspers birdied # 1 & 2 and then 10, 11, 12 on the back. Jaspers birdied 6 holes in all in route to his one under par victory. Even with all those birdies Jim Aughtry still had a chance to tie Jaspers but bogied the 18th hole for second place at 73. Alex Brenner led after nine holes at one under par but a double bogie at 16 sealed his third place finish at 73. Rounding out the top four was Mark Ballew with 74. A Flight: After playing together in the same group all day Jason Breedlove, Kevin Ronan & Chad Ballard all shot the same score of 80 on which tied for first on Saturday. All three went to number one for a sudden-death playoff. Ballard made a bogie and was eliminated. Breedloves par on number two gave him his first egolf Amateur Tour victory of the season. Finishing in fourth spot just one shot behind the playoff was Mike Harter at 81. B Flight: A pair of Upstate tour players came to visit Saturday and went away with the hardware. Steven Traynham shot a 38 on the back side for an 80 on Saturday. Traynham playing out of the Upstate tour got his first victory ever on the Charlotte tour, way to go Steven. Right behind Traynham was another Upstate player Bill Daniel who finished second with 81. Chris Bolick who recently moved up from C flight faired well Saturday finishing in third place with an 85. Vic Lawrence nipped out point’s leader Jimmy Chapman on the card for 4th place. Both players shot 86’s. C Flight: Todd Mullis continues to move up the point’s leader board now in third place on 37 points behind leader Jeremy Treadaway. Mullis fird an 86 Saturday for his first place victory. Finishing right behind Mullis was John Rinaldi with 88. Johns second place finish moved him into second place in point’s just 13.5 points behind Treadaway.
