B, C & D Flight: (Champ Tees) 6484
Championship Flight:
Alex Brenner won for the first time in 2012 with an even par round of 72. Brenner’s round was very consistent with 36-36=72 which included three birdies and three bogies. Darrell Campbell teed it up Saturday for the first time on tour and made his presence known quickly with a fine on over par round of 73 good for second place money. Four players bunched up at 74 as Andy Price grabbed third and Michael Bailey fourth on the card playoff. Your point’s leader Joe Jaspers and runner-up Jim aughtry also shot 74’s but failed to cash Saturday on the playoff.
A Flight:
"Houston we have a new Champ Flight Player" as Greg Ries blistered the field by ten shots on Saturday. Ries did have a putt on his final hole for an all-time low of 69 missed but easily cruised to victory a tournament low round 70. After the round Ries graciously accepted the promotion as his AGT index drop below 4.0, Ries also told me of his all-time 4 lowest rounds three have come while playing on this tour.
B Flight:
A Three way playoff sent Mike Espin, Clif Morgan and "Future Tour Winner" Geoff Smith. They all went to the challenging par 4 18th hole and Espin claimed victory as the only player to make par. Geoff Smith will have to wait another week to try to capture his first ever victory on tour which has spanned over 5 years. Larry Hinson beat out Matt Johnson for third place on the card as both players shot 88’s.
C Flight:
David Bolding from the Western Piedmont tour came in and grabbed victory from all the Charlotte players with 84. Second place also went to a Western Piedmont player as Joe Lee fired 86 for second place. Larry Hinson beat out Matt Johnson for third place on the card as both players shot 88’s.
D Flight:
Keith Bowker won Saturday at the Palisades with a strong 93 right behind Bowker was newcomer Jeremiah Hunt who finished in second with 95. Dan Doyle rounded out the top three scores with 103.
