Joe Jaspers, Charles Devenney, Terry Upright, Sam Carpenter & Brian Crumpler all win the Stonebridge Masters!
Champ Flight:
Joe Jaspers continues his dominance coming back from a two
shot deficit to overtake Jay Barnes.
Barnes fire the low round on Saturday a 2 under par 70 and then followed
it up with and even par round of 72 on Sunday.
That would be more than enough to win majors around the country but not
on the Charlotte Tour as Jaspers fired a five under par 67 on Sunday to win by
three shots. Brian McGowan also had a
great Sunday with 69 and a third place total of 144. Jobe Dyson rounded out the top four spots at
148.
A Flight:
Charles DeVenney posted a pair of 75’s for a 150 total and a
five shot win over Dennis Reams with 155.
The win also moved Devenney’s index to Champ Flight where he should
compete nicely in the upcoming months.
Glen Funderburk was solo third at 158 followed by John Ervin at 159.
B Flight:
Newcomer Jason Benguche & Terry Upright finished the
weekend ties at 159 and went into the only sudden-death playoff of the weekend. Upright grabbed his first major title ever on
the first playoff hole. Keith Hudson
finished third by one posting 160 followed by Chad Hagerman at 161.
C Flight:
The Upstate Tours Sam Carpenter ran away with the C flight
title at 159 and also received a promotion to B flight for the upcoming
tournaments congrats Sam. Mike Lesnick
was second at 170 followed by Perry Dockery at 171 and Gene Bass at 174.
D Flight:
Brian Crumpler took home the win by two shots with a 2 day
total of 183. Bill Bender who was tied
after day one slipped to second place at 185 followed by Derek Kemp with
189. Vince Johnson, Jeff Waldron and
Toby Strickland all tied fourth at 194.
