Jerry York beats Jackson Bailey in a four hole sudden-death playoff!

Winners from Charlotte National egolf Amateur Tour 7-19-08
Championship Flight:
Michael Bailey took over the points lead Saturday with an even par 72. Bailey’s first place finish was a consistent 35-37 from the 7200 yard tees. Finishing one behind Bailey is Senior Tour member Michael McBride with a one over par 73. Who said the senior’s can’t play long courses. A group of players finished at 74 with Chad Frye taking third on the card and Jim Aughtry fourth. Alex Brenner finished out of the money with his 74.
A Flight:
Brian Thomas put his home course advantage to use Saturday shooting a 76 to capture his first win of the season on the egolf Amateur Tour. Brian now will try his luck this week at River Hills CC, the tightest/toughest test on the Charlotte schedule. Kevin Ronan, fresh off his egolf Open win, finished in second place with 77. Mike Nasekos, Scoot Ide and Mike Harter all came in tied for third with 79’s. Nasekos beat both players on the scorecard playoff and Ide beat Harter for 4th place money.
B Flight:
The story of the day was in B Flight with Jerry York and newcomer Jackson Bailey shooting 78’s on Saturday. Both player’s went to #10 for the start of the sudden-death playoff. Both players’s tied on the first three holes and then York finally won on #13 the fourth playoff hole with a par. This marks the longest sudden-death victory of the season, congrat’s to both players. Joe Burgess finally got back on track with and 80, good enough for third place and Doug Tyler cashed a fourth place check with 82.
C Flight:
Chris Bolick fired his best round of the season an smooth 83. That round pushed Chris’ handicap to B Flight. Good Luck with the promotion we know you will do fine in B Flight. Dennis Buck also played exceptional well Saturday shooting a second place 85. John Rinaldi continues to close the point’s race gap on Jeremy Treadaway by finishing in third place Saturday with an 86. Hosts of 88’s were shot Saturday but Bert Rodriguez beat all players on the card for fourth place.
