Joe Jaspers (Champ) Andrew Chappuis (A Flight) Tyler Lucas (B Flight) Darren Gentile (C Flight)!
Championship Flight:
Joe Jaspers continues his dominance at Northstone CC not only winning Saturday but also winning the Carolina Amateur just a few weeks ago. On Saturday Jaspers turned at even par but was 2 shots down to Jim Aughtry’s 2 under par 34 front nine. Jaspers caught Aughtry after he made bogie at 10 and double at 12. At the short par 5 12th both Aughtry and Adam Vincent birdied and then Vincent birdied 13 to pull all square with both players. The three would remain tied until the 16th hole which Jaspers pared and the other 2 bogied. Jaspers would hold on with pars at the final 2 holes to beat Aughtry by two. Finishing in third spot was newcomer Randy Dockins at 75 and then Erik Andrews finished fourth with 76.
A Flight:
Andrew Chappuis did not let the flu get him down this week and came out strong to win for the 4th time this year with 75. Jason Breedlove and Stan Lucas tied at 78 with Breedlove winning on the card for second place. Rex Mills beat out Mark Day and Gary Fesperman on the card for fourth spot with all players firing 81’s.
B Flight:
Tyler Lucas won for the first time ever on tour. Tyler played consistent all day and won by just one shot by firing a winning score of 79. Terry Upright jumped to second place in the point’s standings with his second place finish at 80. Mike Hindmarsh, Chris Jenkins and Steve Wichnoski all shot 82’s on Saturday but it was Hindmarsh getting third and Jenkins fourth on the card. B Flight continues to tighten up as the top 4 leaders are separated by only 36 points. It will be a heck of a finish for the overall point’s winner.
C Flight:
Darren Gentile won for the first time this year and also took over the point’s race from Allen Hagen. Gentile won by just one shot shooting his low round of the year at 81. Jack Frazier was right behind in second place with 82 followed by Nolan Elenz in third at 84. John Rinaldi finished the top four spots out with 87.
