2026 Season Opener at Swan CC: Statement Made.

The Golfweek Amateur Tour – Upstate NY season is officially underway, and the first stop at The Swan Country Club delivered exactly what competitive golf should: pressure, drama, clutch performances, and a reminder that every flight can bring fireworks.

Champ Flight: Adam Candlen opened his season long campaign with a win in chilly early morning conditions.

A Flight: One of the biggest moments of the day came in A Flight, where Kevin Dumichic and Jason Hoch battled into an exciting playoff. Under pressure, Hoch came through to secure the victory, leaving Kevin ready for revenge at the next event

B Flight: Matt Derway didn’t just win B Flight — he posted the lowest round of the entire tournament, proving that great golf can come from any division on any given day.

C Flight: Gerald Washington captured the win with a standout performance in his first event on tour!  With play like this, he'll be in B flight in no time.

D Flight: Arnold Hoch rounded out the winners circle with a strong opening-season victory, holding off a charging Brian DeBell who finished in the money in 2nd place.

And then there was the shot everyone will be talking about…

Shot of the Day: Johnnii Resto's unbelievable hole-out for eagle from 200 yards on the 15th hole — the kind of shot that turns a great tournament into a memorable one.

If Swan CC was any indication, this season is shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet. Big wins, playoff drama, and highlight-reel moments are already on the board.

The season has officially started… and the bar is already high.
