Championship Flight:

The current reigning Charlotte City Am Champ got his game in great shape going back next weekend to defend as Joe Jaspers was the only player to post an under par round yesterday at 71 for the victory at Firethorne.  Anthony White & Jay Barnes finished at 74 with White grabbing second on the card.  Tim Smith and Jeff Malone both fired 76’s with Smith getting 4^th place.

A Flight:

Phil Vangeersdaelen to down Tom Chambers in a one hole sudden-death playoff with both players firing 76.  Scott Nichols almost got in the playoff but finished solo third at 77.  Bob Potter nudges out Kevin Ronan for 4^th place with both players finishing at 78.

B Flight:

Erick Stanwick wins for the first time in B flight at 78 and with it comes the promotion to A Flight as his index fell below B flight level. Mark Bolick and Vic Lawrence both tied at 84 with Bolick grabbing second place cash on the card.  The Birmingham Tour Director Russ Donaldson made a trip to check out the Charlotte Tour and also finished in fourth place with 87.

C Flight:

Steve Daniels wins by two with a stellar round of 88 on the toughest course we play all season.  Mike Lesnick and John Anderson both tied at 90 with Lesnick winning second on the card.  On the day of ties Mark Sikes beat out Richard Marrazza for 4^th place at 92.

D Flight:

Michael Martin wins by only one shot at 90 followed by Toby Strickland at 91.  Darren Slate grabbed third at 93 and Derek Kemp rounded out the top four with 97.

The Golfweek Amateur Tours next stop is this August 15th Saturday as we go to the great old private club Cabarrus CC.   Then the following week we go to another great private club the River Hills on Lake Wylie.
