The eGolf Amateur Tour heads into the fall finish with only 3 tournaments left until the National Championship in Hilton Head. The tours next stop will be at Edgewater on Sept 11th a 10:00am shotgun start!
Please email me back (Yes or No) ASAP. This is a 10:00am shotgun start. As the season winds down every tourney is important in gaining points to be in the top 10 for the National Championship in Hilton Head.
Practice rounds are available this Monday-Friday only for $35.
Also please make note and let me know about Irish Creek on (Sunday) September 26th. We had to move from Saturday to Sunday due to some scheduling mix up with the head pro. So email me back (Yes or No) for 1:30 pm shotgun start on Sunday September 26th. Note we just had a senior event there this week and Irish Creek is in the best shape of any course in Charlotte right now. (Greens/Fairways/Rough/Bunkers) all perfect!

Stand up to Caner!
As you are aware we have the eGolf team in the Stand up to Cancer program. Last year we lost a tour director to kidney cancer and currently our Phoenix director is battling prostrate cancer. This disease affects all of our families; I lost my mom at age 51 to cancer when I was in college.
From now until the tournament at Edgewater I'll have a donation box for $10 raffle tickets to go toward our Charlotte team proceeds (Credit card button on the Charlotte page).
Prizes are:
Scotty Cameron Putter
Free foursome to Cabarrus CC
Free foursome to Edgewater
Free 2011 membership to the tour.
You can pay by check/cash or by credit card under the Charlotte page.
On the front of the web page you can also enter to win a $9000 a week ocean front house in Hilton Head for Tour Championship week! Other prizes also available here so please enter. (www.amateurgolftour.net)
Thanks hope to see you at both tournaments in September!
Championship Flight:
Jody Clary got his first win of the season by playing consistent all day firing a one under par 71. Clary was the only Champ flight player to break par on Saturday. Finishing 3 shots back were Dave Schmidt and Todd McPherson at 74. Schmidt nipped out McPherson on the card for second place money. Schmidt almost did not finish as a skunk walked across the 6th green before he got ready to putt. Fortunately “Pepe LePew†decided to mosey on down the fairway and not take a shot at Dave. Dave had a 20 foot birdie putt he was sizing up and made after the skunk left. He must have got a good read from “Pepeâ€. Fourth place went to Joe Jaspers beating out Steve French on the card. Both players shot 76’s.
A Flight:
At the end of the round only two players broke 80 and it was Don Bridges and Chad Ballard tied with 79’s. As always ties for first are decided by sudden-death so back to the 635 yard par 18th hole they went. Both players were in good shape after 2 shots with Bridges knocking it on the green and Ballard shot coming up just short of the green. Ballard’s chip came up short resulting in a bogie and bridges did what he had to do to win by 2 putting for par. The win was Bridges first of the season and took 19 holes to lock down. A host of players lock up at 81, with Scott Ide getting third place money and David Ridenhour fourth. Stephen Bell also fired 81 but ended up 5th on the card playoff.
B Flight:
Dean Hearn won for the first time ever in B flight and posted his best competitive round on tour. Hearn fired a brilliant 77 to Edge out Richard Ellams by one shot. Ellams shot 78 and finished with second place money and saw his tour handicap drop to 8.1 thus moving up to A Flight. Doug Watson grabbed third with 81 and Chris Jenkins beat out newcomer Chris Boner on the card for 4th. Both Jenkins and Bohner shot 82’s.
C Flight:
Bill Holland won convincingly on Saturday posting an 83 at Cabarrus CC. The four shot victory was due to great putting by Holland on Saturday. With the victory and scores posted Holland will now go to the B flight for the rest of the season. Congrats Bill on your very improved play. Patrick Willams and Scott Grigg both fired 87’s but it was Williams grabbing second place on the card. Rounding out the top 4 places was Jeff Gastineau at 89.
Just a reminder that the first ever 54 hole Tour Championship is just around the corner. Go to the front of the web page for all the details and great lodging deals that we have been able to negotiate. Also the courses that each flight will play are posted and with 54 holes it will give everyone a better chance to win as one bad 9 holes or round you can come back from.
The 16th Annual Tour Championship arrives in Hilton Head, South Carolina in October and YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO QUALIFY! Details have been posted on our home page providing you with up-to-date information as it becomes available…checkout the Tour Championship Link.
