- Player must login to register for all tournaments.
- To register for an event, you must click "Schedule" on the left of our home page and click "Register". Please fill out all the fields.
- You must register and submit the payment to guarantee your spot in any tournaments.
- Most of the torunaments have limited number of spots to play in. We do operate on a first-come, first-served basis which means that once we reach the maximum number of paid players (as listed on the "Roster" in "Schedule" page in our tour website) we start our waiting list. If there are more players listed than we have listed for available spots, please check to see how many people have paid for the event - only paid players are guaranteed to play. Based on the number of members we have, we expect to sell out most events!
- Watch the Roster. Registration remains open until the stated deadline OR whenever the field is completed with the maximum number of paid players - whichever occurs first. Each tournament has a Roster which may be accessed from the Schedule page.
- The deadline to register and pay for the event is Wednesday of the week of the tournament. This helps us send our tee sheet to the golf courses.
- Adhere to deadlines. Cancellations and withdrawals may be made prior to the published deadlines and must be made via email (Indy@amateurgolftour.net). Deadlines are based upon course requirements for our final numbers. Refunds/credits will not be honored after the deadline (unless a replacement player from the same flight is secured).
- Pay for events online via the Pay by Credit Card tab on the website. If the payment is not received by the deadline, the player may be removed from the Roster and our numbers will be adjusted accordingly.
- Keep in mind - upon registering for an event you will receive an automated email stating you have been registered and payment must be made to secure your spot. This is automatically generated. The process of adding players to the Roster and marking players as paid on the list are done manually. Please allow 48 hours for your name to appear. Feel free to reach out after 48 hours to check on the status of a registration/payment that does not show on the website. Registrations/payments made over the weekend may be delayed if a tournament is being played that weekend.
Side/Cash Games for Events (optional):
- Closest to the pin - All par 3's - For all flights - $5/day
- Flight skins - Champ, A & B (Birdie or better) & C & D (Par or better) - For each fight - $10/day
- Super skins - Birdie or better - For all flights - $10/day
- Pick-and-choose the games that you want to play, all these side games are optional.
- Bring exact cash to play these games. Now, you have an option to pay for games when you pay for yout tournament.
- All skins will be paid in cash; you can use the winnings for future events too.
- For two days events, you must pay your skins for both days on the day 1.
Pairings for Events:
- Pairings will be posted on the Tournament Info > Tee Times/Pairings page of the website on Thursday evenings or Friday mornings for a one-day event and as soon as possible for the second day of a two-day event.
- An email with tee times will be sent to all members regardless of whether they are playing in that event or not.
- Pairings are generally based upon flights in order to keep fields close together during the round. Accommodations will be made when possible to enable guests to play with the person bringing them and/or special requests. All requests must be made on Tuesday the week of the event via email (Indy@amatuergolftour.net). Referto the tour manual for guest policy.
- Always check the pairings the night before the event and the morning of the event to ensure you are up to date with any last-minute changes!
Rules and Tee Boxes for Events:
- All USGA rules apply. Local rules will be applied whenever possible and local rules take precedence over tour and USGA rules.
- Please familiarize yourself with the rules in the Tour Manual available online.
- Each flight will be assigned a tee box based on yardages.
- Tee boxes and yardages for each flight for each event can be found by clicking Tournament Info on our home page Indianapolis tour page.
- Please understand that last-minute changes may be required due to course conditions and recommendations.
- Following guide lines will be used to determine yardages:
- Champ flight: 6700 yards and up
- A flight: 6500 - 6800 yards
- B flight: 6400 - 6600 yards
- C flight: 6200 - 6500 yards
- D flight: 6000 - 6300 yards
- Women will play from a tee box of the closest comparable slope/rating to that of the men in the same flight. In the absense of a suitable tee box the tour director will determine a tee box or tee box combination the equivalent of 85-90% of the men's yardage in the same flight.
Tournament Check-In for Events:
- Please allow sufficient time to check-in within the stated guidelines on the rules sheet for each event while allowing time for your personal warm-up and pre-game routines.
- All players must personally check-in at least 30 minutes before tee time or shotgun starts. Failure to do so may result in a 2 stroke penalty.
- After checking in, find your cart with your name on the cart card and stow your gear. Allow sufficient time to perform your normal warmup routines.
- Please be sure to pick up and read all documents/materials provided on the day of a tournament.
- Range balls will be provided by the hosting course for every event.
Scoring and Pace of Play for Events:
- Be on the first tee box at least 10 minutes prior to your tee time. If it's shotgun start, be in the cart 10 minutes before for announcemnets.
- On the first tee or on the starting hole, each player should identify his/her ball with a distinctive marking and show it to playing partners. If you can not positively identify your ball, then USGA rules deem your ball to be lost.
- Order of play will be determined based on the order listed on the score card.
- Each group is required to have one person complete the paper scorecard and one person complete the online Live Scoring scorecard. Players are expected to fulfill both duties when asked during a tournament. Please come prepared.
- Every player is responsible for verifying his/her hole-by-hole score on both the paper scorecard and the online scorecard.
- At the end of the round, verify and sign your score card and return the score card to scorer table. The paper score card serves as the official record, not the online system (Live Scoring).
- Every player is responsible for the pace of play for their group and should be aware of their position on the course as well as with the information provided via the online system. Please refer the Tour Manual for details.
- Play READY GOLF!
- Rangers will act as Tour Officials and will warn slow groups and then report to the tour director. Your goup must pick up the pace, if you continue to play slow you may be given 2 strokes penalty.
- Any messages sent through the online scoring system must be shared with the entire group as they also serve as official warnings.
- Triple bogey max on any one hole for all flights except Champ flight. After that pick up your ball and help your group to finish the hole.
- Play provisional ball when a ball goes into an area where the ball might be lost or OB. You must announce that you are playing provisional ball.
Issues During an Event:
- When in doubt of a rule, play two balls and get a ruling when you return to the clubhouse. If possible, take a picture of the situation to assist in determining a ruling.
Prizes/Event Recaps after an Event:
- All prizes will be paid out with Golfweek Amateur Tour Visa Cards, no cash prize! (abide by USGA rule).
- We advise players to register their gift cards as soon as possible via the email/phone number listed on the card. It is the individual player's responsibility to complete this process to ensure the safety/accessibility of the gift card.
- Recaps of local events are generally provided in a newsletter and in Facebook following the tournament and may also be accessible via a link on our homepage.
Caddies & Spectators:
- Caddies are not allowed.
- If you bring any spectators, it is your responsibility to reserve the cart for yourself by calling the course. We are not responsible for carts for spectators.
- Range finders (no slope) and golf apps (no green book) are allowed.
